Fly Ash

Fly ash is considered to be a byproduct from burning pulverized coal in electric power generating plants. The Fly Ash is a kind of artificial pozzolan, particularly designed and processed to attain maximum performance on most of the cement and concrete applications. In the course of producing high quality Industrial Fly Ash Powder, PFA were selected and industrially processed to attain utmost performance as a cement replacement product. The brand is reserved only for those grades which meet the Indian Standard IS: 3812.

Our company have developed in house classifier unit is PLC controlled and have the facility such as automatic material handling system, online mess controller, pollution free loading and packing system.

The Suyog Laboratory is well installed with advanced machinery for the testing and evaluation of the physical and chemicals parameters of fly ash specified in the Indian standard (IS 3812).

The classified Fly Ash importantly cuts down the amount of unburned particles leading to a practically carbon free material. Maximum reactivity is acquired by rejecting the less reactive crystalline Fly Ash particles and by enhancing the particular surface of the final product. The usage of this modern pozzolanic Fly Ash material offers an impressive reduction of the mixing water needed and advanced strength development, allowing high replacement rates which are literally not possible with moderate cement additions. The cement replacement rate banks upon cement and admixture type and also its usage. For normal concrete production using OPC, replacement rates in the range of 35% are recommended. For each single application the proper mix design shall be determined by appropriate testing.
The main advantages in concrete are: Improved Workability, Improved Durability and Reduced Heat of Hydration

Packing of Fly Ash: Products are easily available, based on Client's requirement, in 40 kg HDPE bags, Jumbo (big) bags carrying 1 - 1.3 MT. , loose supply in 20 - 25 MT road tankers (bulkers).
Application: Structural Concrete, Ready Mix Concrete, Plastering and Brick Mortar

General Guidelines for Use:

The optimum level of replacement of Cement with fly ash within the concrete mix will be between 20 - 35% by weight for normal RCC structures. Generally the addition of flay ash will have a plasticizing effect on your concrete and as recommend one should reduce the total volume of water in the concrete by at least 5 - 10% to achieve the same workability as Portland cement concrete. In addition you may find that reducing the amount of sand by 1 - 3% by weight will be beneficial to the final mix.

In general there is a slight slowing down in the setting time of concrete yielding slightly lower 7-days strength as compared to Ordinary Portland Cement Concrete. Although the concrete can be designed accordingly to achieve appropriate 7- days or early strengths.

Mortar for Plaster:

Fly Ash amends the surface finish of mortars and cut down the level of surface cracking it will also lead to a decrease in water penetration of the hardened product. The use of fly ash in plaster gives a better surface finish, more time for finishing and a virtually crack-free surface, leading to a higher quality look to all walls.

We would recommend a 25% - 40% replacement level of OPC cement by weight.

Mortar for Bricklaying:

  • Fly Ash is an ideal product for bricklaying mortar due to the increased cohesiveness and flow ability of material when added to the mix.
  • We would recommend a replacement level of 30 - 45% of OPC cement by weight.
